Video Transcript

Optimal learning relies on a careful balance of training styles.

It's said that we learn something new every day. And learning is vital for our career development and growth.

Unfortunately, there's no "one-size-fits-all" training solution. But, the 70:20:10 model can offer you a more balanced learning experience.

It says that the best learning experience includes 70 percent Experience, 20 percent Exposure, and 10 percent Education.

  1. Experience. 70 percent of learning can be "on-the-job" experience. But ensure that the tasks you delegate to learners have a genuine purpose.
  2. Exposure. This is learning that flows from experience, such as interactions with colleagues and social learning.
  3. Education. This is formal training, such as compliance courses or classroom-based learning. Help your people to prepare for it, and to apply their new knowledge to their jobs.
