4-Step Action Plans Video
Video Transcript
Use Action Plans to complete small but important projects effectively by following these four steps.
So your project's finished, but you've realized that you've missed a key step. Fixing the setback will cost you time you don't have.
This is where Action Plans are useful. They help you to plan your project thoroughly and they may save you time and effort in the long run.
Step 1. Brainstorm Tasks
Think the project through step by step and identify actions. Prioritize these by deadline or by when people are free to do them.
Step 2. Analyze and Delegate Tasks
Look at each task in greater detail. Can you drop or delegate any, but still meet your objective?
Step3. Identify the Resources You'll Need to Complete Your Tasks Effectively
Use the SCHEMES mnemonic to do this:
- Space
- Cash
- Helpers/People
- Equipment
- Materials
- Expertise
- Systems
Step 4. Learn From Your Action Plan.
Make a note of anything that you could have done better and revise your plan ready for next time.
